Vacuum Pump (Transfer Pump)
Transfer Pump or Gas-displacement pump displaces gas from sealed areas to the atmosphere or to a downstream pump stage. They displace gas by accelerating it in the pumping direction, either via a mechanical drive system or through a directed vapor stream that is condensed at the end of the pumping section.
Description
A vacuum pump is a device that removes gas molecules from a sealed volume in order to leave behind a partial vacuum. There are two types of vacuum pumps, one being a transfer pump and the other being a trapping pump.
